Role in the system

Algae develop rapidly in tanks exposed to light, particularly in summer. The UV lamp treats water continuously as it circulates through the filter, without affecting the beneficial nitrifying bacteria fixed on the root anchoring foams in the growing towers, nor the fish. It complements the mechanical filtration (filter foam and sediment) provided by the radial filter.

Replacement

UV effectiveness decreases gradually, even if the lamp still appears to be working visually. Replace every 12 months to maintain optimal algae protection.
