Why clean your blades?

With every cut, sap and resin build up on the blade and counter-blade of your pruning shears. These deposits harden over time, stick the blades together and reduce cutting quality. More importantly, sap and plant residue carry bacteria and fungi from one plant to another. Cleaning procedure

1. Open the shears: unlock the pruning shears and open them fully to expose the entire blade surface
2. Spray the foam: one or two pumps is enough. Apply to the blade, counter-blade and pivot
3. Leave for 1 to 2 minutes: the foam penetrates and dissolves sap and resin deposits
4. Wipe with a cloth: pass a clean cloth over the blades to remove dissolved residue. For the most stubborn deposits, gently scrub with a soft-bristle brush or fine steel wool
5. Repeat if needed: a second application may be useful for heavily soiled shears

Recommended frequency: clean your blades after every intensive pruning session, or at least once a week during active growing season.
