Replacement Filter Foam – City Greenhouse

This replacement filter foam is designed for the radial filter integrated into the tank of your City greenhouse. It provides mechanical filtration of solid particles suspended in the water circuit, retaining organic matter before it reaches the pump, irrigation nozzles and vertical growing towers. A clean foam is essential for maintaining optimal water flow and preventing nozzle blockages.

Role in the system

The radial filter is the first line of defence in your City greenhouse water circuit. It intercepts solid matter (organic debris, root fragments, nutrient residues) before the water reaches the pump and irrigation nozzles. Unlike the Family greenhouse which uses a dual-density system (yellow + blue foams), the City greenhouse relies on a single integrated foam. When the foam clogs, flow decreases, the indicator spinner slows and irrigation nozzles risk blocking, potentially causing uneven watering across your growing towers.

Maintenance and replacement

Clean the foam with clear water weekly in peak season (spring-summer) and fortnightly the rest of the year. Never use chemicals or tap water, this would destroy the beneficial bacteria colonising the foam surface. When cleaning, check the indicator spinner: if it still turns slowly after cleaning, the foam may need replacing. Replace the foam when it degrades, loses density, becomes permanently compressed or no longer regains effectiveness despite cleaning.
