Magnesium sulphate is an essential mineral supplement for your crops in aquaponics and bioponics. Magnesium is at the core of chlorophyll and drives photosynthesis – without it, plants yellow and growth slows down. In closed-loop systems, this element is gradually depleted and must be regularly replenished.

Role in the system

Magnesium is the central element of chlorophyll, the molecule that powers photosynthesis. A deficiency shows as interveinal yellowing on older leaves – veins remain green while the surrounding tissue turns yellow. The associated sulphur contributes to protein synthesis and overall crop quality.

How to use

Dissolve the powder in a bucket of warm water with other supplements before adding to the growing system. Add approximately a quarter of the sachet (500 g) every 4 weeks from March to October, and every 2 months from October to March. A 2 kg sachet covers approximately 6 months for a standard Myfood system.
