This replacement battery is designed for the Sigfox repeater of your Myfood greenhouse. The repeater amplifies the signal between the sensor unit and the Sigfox infrastructure, ensuring reliable transmission of your greenhouse data (pH, water temperature, air humidity, air temperature) to your myfoodhub dashboard. It runs entirely on battery power, with no electrical connection needed – simply place it inside the greenhouse and it works autonomously.

Role in the system
Your Myfood sensor unit collects real-time data from the greenhouse sensors (Atlas Scientific pH probe, water temperature probe, air humidity and temperature sensor) and transmits it via the Sigfox network to your myfoodhub dashboard. When the Sigfox signal is weak, due to distance, obstacles or limited network coverage, the repeater bridges the gap by amplifying the signal. Without a functioning repeater battery, the data chain is broken and you lose remote visibility of your greenhouse parameters.

When to replace?
If your data no longer appears on myfoodhub while the sensor unit is working normally (LEDs active, probes connected), the repeater battery likely needs replacing. Before ordering, check the Sigfox coverage map for your area to confirm the issue is battery-related and not a network outage. If the data returns intermittently, the battery may be running low but not yet fully depleted – replace it promptly to avoid data gaps.
Do I need a repeater?
The Sigfox repeater is needed when network coverage is weak or unstable around your greenhouse. This is particularly the case in Belgium, Switzerland and certain border areas where Sigfox infrastructure is still being deployed. Rural locations, basements and metal-framed buildings can also weaken the signal. If you don't have a repeater and your data isn't coming through, contact Myfood support to diagnose the issue.
