Submersible Tank Heaters - With timer

The submersible tank heaters maintain the water temperature in your tanks during winter, protecting your fish and preventing the irrigation system in the vertical growing towers from freezing. Supplied with a programmable manual timer, they enable heating by time slots to optimise electricity consumption.

When to use?

In aquaponics: recommended as soon as outdoor temperatures regularly drop below 0°C or when the water temperature falls below 5°C at night. Fish welfare and nitrifying bacteria activity depend on it.

In bioponics: recommended for areas where temperatures regularly drop below -10°C (mid and high altitude, Northern France, Grand Est, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg). Heating prevents the irrigation circuit from freezing.

• City and Family 11 m² greenhouses (1 tank): 1 heater
• Family 15 and 22 m² greenhouses (2 tanks): 2 heaters

The kit adapts to all Myfood greenhouses, one heater per tank for even heat distribution.

Good to know

• The heaters also facilitate winter cycling: nitrifying bacteria do not develop below 10°C
• When water is heated, mineral uptake by plants is improved
• If the water surface freezes despite heating, cut the pump immediately to protect the equipment
• During prolonged extreme cold, it may be better to pause the greenhouse to avoid excessive electricity consumption

Tips

Programme heating slots according to your local climate and weather forecast, maintaining a minimum thermostat setting of 15°C. Pair the heaters with double polycarbonate insulating panels to maximise your greenhouse's thermal inertia and reduce consumption (also included in the Winter Module).
